v  Basic Competence          :

Responding the meaning in written text accurately, fluent, and acceptable in daily life context and to access knowledge in the form of descriptive text.

v  Indicators:

·       Identification the meaning of descriptive text

·       Identification the generic structure of descriptive text

·       Finding the difficult word and synonym by the underline word from the text

·         Reading aloud a recount text.

 

v  Learning Objectives       :

After the teaching learning process student are able to:

·         Answer the question of descriptive text

·         Finding the generic structure of descriptive text

·         Reading aloud a descriptive text accurately

 

 

v  Learning Materials         : Descriptive Paragraph

 

Descriptive Paragraph

·         Descriptive paragraph is paragraph which expresses or describes place, thing, and person in such vivid detail that the readers can easily visualize the described place, thing and person, or can feel that they involve in the experience.

·         Generic Structure:

1.      Identification           : Part in which you identify or write the recognition; moreover it can be a general statement about place, person, or thing that you want to describe.

2.      Descriptions             : Vivid detail of place, person, or thing that you want to describe so that the reader can easily imagine or picture the descriptions, or they can feel that they involve in the experience.

3.      Conclusion               : This part may be included or not. It can be restatement or conclusion of the paragraph.

 

Example:

My Pet

            I have a pet, it is a dog and I call it Brownie. Brownie is a Chinese breed. It is small, fluffy and cute. It has got thick brown fur. When I cuddle it, the fur feels soft. Brownie does not like bones, every day, it eats soft food like steamed rice, fish or bread. Every morning, I give her milk and bread.

When I am at school, Brownie plays with my cat. They get along well and never fight, because Brownie does not bark a lot. It treats the other animals in our house gently, and it never eats shoes. Brownie is really a sweet and friendly animal.

-          Greeting  the students

-          Checking the students attendance

-          Giving the  students leading questions  about the material

 

b.      Whilst – activities: (60 minutes)

Ø  Exploration:

-          Asking the students some questions related to the material

-          Giving an example of descriptive text to the students

-          Reading an example of descriptive text to the students

Ø  Elaboration:

-          Asking the students to read the text loudly

-          Asking the students to find the generic structure of descriptive text

-          Asking the students to answer the question based on the text.

Ø  Confirmation:

-      Discussing all the questions which is answered by the students

 

 

c.       Post – activities: (20minutes)

-          Summarizing the material to the students.

-          Providing homework.
